Global Engagement Office
About Global Engagement
For more than a century, University of Chicago faculty and students have worked in other countries and in collaboration with scholars from around the world. Today, that reach extends further than ever with hundreds of programs, initiatives, and partnerships in over 38 nations and on every continent. At our campus in Hyde Park, students and scholars from around the world enhance each other's academic pursuits and share a passion for ideas with impact. Each year, the University enrolls more than 3,900 international students from over 100 countries. Across the world, UChicago scholars convene and collaborate at University Centers in Paris, Beijing, Hong Kong and Delhi or in the field -- wherever their research takes them. Our alumni span the globe. They are political leaders, humanitarians, executives, and innovators. From Chicago Booth's excutive MBA campus in London to the Oriental Institute's field house in Luxor, Egypt, the University of Chicago facilitates scholarly collaborations, creates student opportunities, and enriches knowledge and education around the world
The Global Engagement Office supports a growing number of international programs and partnerships, overseas centers and campuses, research collaborations, and global education opportunities. While helping to steward programs already under way, the Associate President for Global Initiatives, Michael Kulma, collaborates with faculty, deans, and University administrators to lead the development of University strategies for engagement in key regions.
