Madhav RajanSteven S. Wymer Dean and Distinguished Service Professor of Accounting, Chicago Booth; Chief Global Strategist
madhav.rajan@chicagobooth.eduIn June 2025, Madhav Rajan took on an expanded role as Chief Global Strategist for the University of Chicago. In this role, he is responsible for shaping and implementing a strategy that reflects UChicago’s vital commitments to rigorous education and research globally. As CGS, he oversees UChicago Global and the university’s international campuses. As Dean of Booth, Rajan has launched new master’s programs and reshaped the school’s footprint in Asia and EMEA. He has bolstered alumni engagement, resulting in significant support for faculty research and scholarships. Rajan has deepened the school’s ties to the University of Chicago via joint degrees and by initiating the Business Economics track, now the largest major in the College.
Katie Hrinyak provides leadership for UChicago Global, which provides support, funding mechanisms, and infrastructure for the University community’s global engagement through a Chicago team and centers in Beijing, Delhi, and Hong Kong, while coordinating closely with the Center in Paris. She manages existing international relationships and builds new ones with the goal of expanding the University’s global reach. She also helps ensure appropriate risk management and mitigation procedures are in place for the University’s global activity and oversees HR, finance, legal, facilities-related, and other operational requirements for the University’s overseas locations in Asia. She works with partners across campus to strengthen the institutional policy and procedures and serves as a liaison for matters relating to international operations.
Sylvia Alajaji supports the CNRS-University of Chicago International Research Center for Fundamental Scientific Discovery (IRC Discovery), a joint research center between the University of Chicago and the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).
Hannah Bain supports UChicago Global's communications efforts, contributing to strategy and content across the office's global portfolio.
Carmen Bello manages the University’s Consular relations and supports leadership in their interactions with international partners. She coordinates the Global team’s efforts for the reception of high-level international delegations, the organization of quarterly international administrators’ meetings, as well as the organization of the annual University of Chicago and Chicago Consular Reception.
Tatiana provides direct administrative support to the Associate Vice President of Global Initiatives and Strategy. She also supports administrative functions for UChicago Global team, including paying invoices, reconciling expenses, initiating transfers, and supporting itineraries for visitors.
Liz Jackson serves as Senior Associate Director for Global Partnerships at the University of Chicago, where she advances the university’s international collaborations with global partners and supports faculty and leadership in amplifying UChicago’s global impact.
Peter Kujawinski leads communications efforts to increase awareness and recognition of UChicago as a leading global research university. He develops and implements the global communications strategy and plan to support the University’s international programs and partnerships, overseas centers and campuses, research collaborations, and global education opportunities.
Jack Leuker supports UChicago Global’s institutional partnerships by coordinating faculty engagement, managing collaboration agreements, and providing strategic research and briefings to inform leadership decisions.
Kesiah Mendoza supports efforts to enhance compliance expertise and operational capacity at the University and the Global Centers. Kesiah is responsible for maintaining compliance documentation, trainings, and the development of compliance programs for existing initiatives and to meet new requirements or identified risks.
Kate Moore leads Global's programming and the university's institutional partnership. She maintains support structures for faculty conducting international work, oversees internal funding mechanisms, builds relationships with key stakeholders, advises on potential partnership structures and surfaces opportunities for global engagement.
Janice Ng works with the Yuen Campus in Hong Kong’s Heritage Interpretation Center, serves as the primary contact for the Chinese Consulate, and provides protocol advice to leadership and campus partners for interacting with international partners. She also maintains relationships with local Chinese and Hong Kong government representatives as well as Chinese student groups.
Hannah Snyder coordinates the administration and operations for a portfolio of UChicago's global operations, including the centers in Beijing and Delhi and campus in Hong Kong. She also leads financial reporting, internal control implementation, and tax and accounting compliance for global operations and facilitate budget preparation and forecasting that is responsive to local trends and guided by university standards.
Shuo "Erica" Wang serves as the primary steward of UChicago Global’s internal funding mechanisms, which include five regional mechanisms as part of the Provost’s Global Faculty Awards (PGFA) and several bi-lateral co-funding initiatives with key partners. She also guides and supports the faculty committees responsible for selecting projects funded in each region, serving as the liaison for committee operations, membership onboarding, and strategic engagement with UChicago Global and the University’s Global Centers.
