The Center in Delhi celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2019. Since its opening in 2014, the Center has served as an intellectual hub for international scholars, students, staff, and over 150 University of Chicago faculty. This event celebrated academic collaborations between UChicago and India as well as the partnerships that have been established in the region. Programming highlighted the University’s engagement with India in culture and the arts, science, and education through academic panels that feature some of the University's leading faculty (see below for panel discussion videos).

The celebration both provided an avenue to showcase the work of the Center and included an unveiling of the skull cast of the Rajasaurus Narmadensis, the first fossil remains of a dinosaur found in India, discovered by UChicago Professor and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Paul Sereno. As the Center is also a focal point for engaging alumni in the region, the celebration coincided with the 2019 Pan India Booth Alumni Retreat (PIBAR).
