The University of Chicago is an urban research university that has driven new ways of thinking since 1890. Our commitment to free and open inquiry draws inspired scholars to our global campuses, where ideas are born that challenge and change the world. In all we do, we are driven to dig deeper, push further, and ask bigger questions—and to leverage our knowledge to enrich all human life. Our diverse and creative students and alumni drive innovation, lead international conversations, and make masterpieces. Alumni and faculty, lecturers and postdocs go on to become Nobel laureates, CEOs, university presidents, attorneys general, literary giants, and astronauts.
Our overseas campus and centers expand opportunities for collaboration with universities, research institutes, and cultural organizations; meet the needs of a growing number of faculty and students for research support and other opportunities abroad; and engage alumni throughout each region.
For more than a century, the University of Chicago faculty and students have engaged around the world. Today, that reach extends farther than ever to Asia. In this video, Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation and Strategy and Chief International Officer, Deputy Provost of the University of Chicago, Bala Srinivasan captures how UChicago Center in Delhi recently celebrated its fifth anniversary is advancing university's goal of using research in designing evidence-backed solutions. UChicago uses this engagement as a model to use research in designing evidence-backed solutions around the world. Tomorrow, this model of engagement will be used to expand that reach even further around the world to the most challenging contexts.
