Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation

As the social impact hub at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation offers hands-on learning opportunities, supports innovative courses, and pursues research—all with the goal of developing people and practices with the potential to solve the world’s biggest problems.

HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB PROGRAMME ON SOCIAL INNOVATION:
The Rustandy Center operates The Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation, a partnership between the University of Chicago, the Booth School of Business, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation builds on the strengths of Hong Kong’s social impact sector by combining the best of Chicago Booth’s education, research, and global perspective with sector-specific programs and local collaborations. The Programme offers scholarships for NGO professionals to study in Booth’s Executive MBA Asia and non-degree executive education programs.

GLOBAL PROGRAMS AND ENGAGEMENT:
As the destination for people committed to helping solve complex social and environmental problems, the Rustandy Center works to help university alumni and students across the globe to jump-start nonprofit and for-profit ventures with social missions and to gain firsthand experience in the social sector through mentorship, workshops, and volunteer opportunities. The center also convenes the world’s leading business, nonprofit, and policy minds both through virtual offerings and events at Booth’s campuses in Chicago, London, Hong Kong, and beyond.

GLOBAL RESEARCH:
The center advances social sector research and cutting-edge partnerships worldwide, often pairing the university’s leading academic minds in economics, operations, marketing, finance, and behavioral science with partners in the for-profit, nonprofit, and public sectors. In doing so, the center aims to generate important insights that can advance the way the sector operates and address some of the most challenging social issues. Projects are underway in the Democratic Republic of
Congo, Hong Kong, Kenya, India, and the United States.
