Shaoda Wang will join the Harris School of Public Policy as an assistant professor in July of 2021. Since 2019 he has been a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Economics and at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC). He is an applied economist with research interests in development economics, environmental economics, and political economy. His research is aimed at understanding the political economy of public policy (design, implementation, effectiveness), with a regional focus on China. Wang received his BA from Peking University and his PhD from the University of California - Berkeley.
