DENG Suo’s research focuses on poverty, social development, and child welfare. He has published articles in international and domestic peer-reviewed journals. DENG has been leading projects on child poverty, financial capability of youth, and community development. DENG previously served as the deputy director of the Peking University-Hong Kong Polytechnic University China Social Work Research Centre, which aims to foster the integration of social work theory and practice, to indigenize and professionalize social work, and to ultimately make contributions to social problem solving and to the social development at large. He has also served as national consultant for the State Council Working Committee on Women and Children in China and is a board member of the China Academy of Social Work.
