GAO Xiang’s research focuses on social policy analysis and evaluation as it relates to children, family issues, medical insurance, and inequality. Much of her work has consisted of analyzing and comparing polices between China and the United States, including intervention policies on child abuse, childcare issues, among others. She teaches courses on social policy, social security, and social project management and evaluation at Peking University.
GAO holds a BA and MA from Peking University. She received a statistical expertise certificate and PhD from the School of Social Work at the University of Washington.
