Rupamanjari Ghosh is the second vice chancellor of Shiv Nadar University and joined the university in July 2012, as the founding director of the School of Natural Sciences (SoNS) and the dean of Research and Graduate Studies. She has played a key role in shaping the vision and mission of the School. Her research interests include experimental and theoretical quantum optics, laser physics, nonlinear optics, and quantum information.
Prior to joining the university, Ghosh served as the dean of the School of Physical Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, along with many other academic and administrative positions. Ghosh has an MS in physics from the University of Calcutta and a PhD from the University of Rochester, where she worked as a Rush Rhees Fellow.
